ARE UNIVERSITY STUDENTS READY TO SOLVE THE WORLD’S GREATEST CHALLENGES?

The United Nations Global Goals are the world’s to-do list to end extreme poverty and protect our planet.  If we are to achieve these goals by 2030, then we need our students to be aware of the goals, and how their university education could help achieve them.

If you teach in a university or college, then help us to inspire and inform your students! It doesn’t matter whether you’re an expert in sustainability or have never heard of the goals.  Our site is aimed at all academic disciplines, and provides everything you need to run an introductory workshop. Keep reading to find out how!

Wait, I’m a student, not a teacher!

I teach in a school, not a university

What are the Global Goals?

The Global Goals for Sustainable Development are our 15 year action plan towards a better, fairer world. The 17 goals were agreed by 193 world leaders in 2015, building on the success of the Millenium Development Goals, which helped halve poverty since the year 2000. This time, the Global Goals, or SDGs, apply to ALL countries, recognising that we all face challenges of poverty and inequality, and we must work together to leave no-one behind.  Since then, the United Nations, governments, businesses, and civil society have been working together to meet these ambitious targets by 2030.

Why embed the Global Goals in higher education?

We teach some of society’s brightest young people, helping them develop specialist knowledge and skills, yet many of our students have never heard of the Global Goals.  Here at Study 4 Global Goals, we believe that today’s students will be key to meeting these ambitious targets, and that EVERY academic discipline from medicine to philosophy, literature to business, can contribute.  We need you – dedicated teachers in higher education – to share the Goals in your curriculum, and encourage your students to consider what they can do.  By doing so, we’re also helping achieve Goal 4 – Quality Education!
